About Sharon
Hi, my name is Sharon Frasier-Johnson, and I specialize in early childhood mindfulness and movement-based learning. With a background in human services and business, I founded Yogi Cubs Kids Yoga to bring a science-backed, results-driven approach to children’s emotional and cognitive development. My program integrates key insights from neuroplasticity research—and how thoughts shape reality—into a structured, age-appropriate yoga and mindfulness experience. Today, I want to introduce you to the future of youth empowerment: Yogi Cubs Kids Yoga.
The Problem
In today’s fast-paced world, kids are more overstimulated and anxious than ever before. Schools are reporting record-high levels of attention difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and stress-related behaviors. The truth is, our education system teaches kids what to think, but not how to manage their emotions, self-regulate, and harness their own inner strength. That’s where Yogi Cubs Kids Yoga comes in.
The Solution
Yogi Cubs Kids Yoga is a structured movement and mindfulness program designed to enhance brain development, emotional regulation, and self-awareness—leveraging the research on neuroplasticity. Our method activates the prefrontal cortex, helping kids develop better decision-making skills, emotional balance, and focus. We also work with breathwork and movement to calm the amygdala, reducing stress and anxiety while improving resilience.
What sets us apart is that we’ve adapted these neuroscience-backed principles into an engaging, age-specific format, where children don’t just learn yoga poses—they experience a mind-body transformation that supports their growth in school, at home, and in social interactions.
Each session is built on proven neuroscience principles and designed to work within schools, community centers, and extracurricular programs.
Why This Works
By integrating these techniques, Yogi Cubs Kids Yoga delivers measurable results. Schools and parents notice:
✅ Better focus and academic performance
✅ Improved emotional regulation and self-control
✅ A noticeable decrease in stress, anxiety, and emotional outbursts
✅ A stronger sense of self-confidence and empowerment
And the best part? These tools don’t just help kids today—they give them lifelong skills to navigate challenges, build resilience, and create a future where they can thrive.
I’m currently working with schools, educators, and community leaders to bring this transformational program to more children. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or youth program director, I’d love to connect and discuss how Yogi Cubs Kids Yoga can support the kids in your community.
Education
I received my Bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston with a major in Business Administration. I completed my Masters in Human Services and my MBA from Lenoir Rhyne University.
With a Master’s thesis focused on therapeutic behavioral interventions and contemplative practices, my academic journey has always been rooted in the intersection of behavioral science, mindfulness, and well-being. This foundation has been integral in shaping my approach to developing programs that support and nurture the unique needs of children, especially neurodivergent children. It is this expertise and commitment to science-driven interventions that led to the creation of Yogi Cubs Kids Yoga.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with numerous organizations to enhance their social services, focusing on the development of evidence-based programs, including anger management, self-care, yoga, and resiliency training. These initiatives have successfully improved the well-being of diverse client groups, with a strong emphasis on measurable outcomes through evidence-based assessments. This approach ensures that every program at Yogi Cubs is not only effective but also continuously evolving to meet the needs of our children.
In addition to this work, I conducted a pilot qualitative study on self-care strategies for helping professionals, leading to the creation of a self-care workbook designed to integrate mindfulness and self-care into organizational practices. This resource continues to support professionals, ensuring they care for themselves as they care for others—improving their own well-being while enhancing their effectiveness in the field.
My work is driven by a deep commitment to program development, evaluation, and education, with an emphasis on neuroplasticity and mindfulness. These principles are at the heart of Yogi Cubs, where yoga is not just an activity but a therapeutic tool for fostering emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and social skill development in children. Through yoga, children build resilience, focus, and balance, benefiting from practices that directly engage the prefrontal cortex and amygdala, helping them develop critical skills that extend beyond the yoga mat.
At Yogi Cubs, we take a science-based, holistic approach to child development. Our programs are grounded in peer-reviewed research and designed to help children not only improve their physical health but also thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. My work is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where children can feel supported, seen, and empowered to grow, grounded in evidence-based practices that ensure their long-term success.
